Henderson Lumineers Vs. Traditional Henderson Porcelain Veneers

Though most doctors practicing Henderson cosmetic dentistry usually offer both options to their patients, there are distinct differences between Henderson Lumineers and traditional Henderson porcelain veneers. Both treatments can rectify an array of problems with the appearance of the smile. Both products have given years of satisfaction and enjoyment and they are both durable. The primary difference lies in the procedures used to affect essentially the same results.
Traditional Henderson Porcelain Veneers
After the consultation with the Henderson cosmetic dentistry professional, plaster casts are made of the existing teeth. Some cosmetic dentists will apply temporary plastic to the teeth to simulate the end result of the procedure and give the patient an opportunity to become comfortable with the new look or to make changes. The plaster casts are sent out to a lab where the Henderson porcelain veneers will be fabricated. Treatment begins with the reshaping of the teeth that are to receive the Henderson porcelain veneers. This will usually require mouth numbing anesthetic. Teeth are generally filed or broken in order to accommodate the new porcelain sleeves that will be affixed over them. Once the completed Henderson porcelain veneers are received from the lab, they are bonded to the prepared teeth. Affixing the veneers can up to four hours to install six. The procedure to obtain Henderson porcelain veneers can be somewhat painful and is irreversible.

The practitioner of Henderson cosmetic dentistry may apply temporary plastic to the teeth to simulate the end result of the procedure and give the patient an opportunity to become comfortable with the new look or to make changes. Instead of being sent to a lab, the casts of the teeth are sent only to the Cerinate Design Studios which is the only place that Henderson Lumineers are fabricated. Instead of porcelain sleeves, Henderson Lumineers are made of an ultra-thin material that is about.2 millimeters thick and very translucent. They are designed to simulate enamel. There is no need to grind or file the teeth down because the Henderson Lumineers are affixed to the outside of the existing teeth. When the Henderson Lumineers are received from the Cerinate Design Studios, it takes about 3 hours to apply a set of 6. There is no need for mouth numbing or anesthesia because there is very little discomfort. Since the original teeth are left unaltered the procedure is reversible should the patient not be happy with the result.

However, it is important to evaluate the two procedures and decide which one is more comfortable for the individual undergoing treatment. Some people do decide on a combination of the two procedures to obtain a unique smile makeover. Both procedure cost about the same at under $1,000 depending on the number of teeth involved.
